How can I find my ring sizes?
The best and most accurate way to find your ring size is to be sized in person by your local jeweler or jewelry store.
If you are located In Bozeman, MT sasa can personally size you.
Or you can purchase a ring sizer here
Resizing?
Please note that if you purchase the wrong size there is a $50-$150 resizing fee that does not include shipping costs. *Naz styles are not resizeable*
My size isn't listed on the website?
While sasa is size inclusive, our website only allows us a limited number of SKU's. To purchase a size not listed (under 3, over 12, 1/4 and 1/2 sizes) please make a note of your size at checkout.
As part of our size inclusivity model, all rings are the same price whether you are a 2.5 or a 14.
sasa pieces are meant to last a lifetime with proper care.
This includes removing rings during activies where damage and/or loss can occur. These activities include, but are not limited to: washing pots/pans, cleaning with harsh chemicals, excercising with weights, and gardening. Basically any contact with other metals can damage settings and even gemstones.
Showering in sasa is also not recommended, not because it will damage your pieces, but overtime shampoos, soaps, and lotions can buildup and make gemstones appear dull.
All sasa pieces are solid gold and will not cause skin irritation, however certain lotions, soaps, and/or hand sanitizers can cause chemical reactions with gold. If you notice your finger turning black, this is the most likely culprit (or just plain old dirt)!
The solution is simple: take a soft toothbrush and gentle soap to remove any buildup or loss of shine.
What are alloys and karats?
An alloy is just the mixing of metals to make all of the different gold colors and karats is the purity of the gold alloy. Solid gold is 24 karats.
What is the difference between 14k and 18k?
14k and 18k are made up of different alloys. 14k is always 58.5% gold. 18k is always 75.5% gold.
Traditional 14k yellow alloy:
58.5% gold + 5% silver + 31.25% copper + 5.25% zinc
Traditional 18k yellow alloy:
75.5% gold + 15% silver + 9.5% copper
How to decided between 14k and 18k?
The straightforward answer is the higher the karat the more gold quantity aka a higher price. The more nuanced approach is choosing the actual color of the alloy not the karat, regardless of the price.
So yes 18k is 17% more gold than 14k and increases the price, but we pick gold alloys based on gemstones and skin tone and encourage you to as well!
What the heck is brown and blonde gold?
These are non industry standard alloys! There are several different alloys available but brown and blonde are our favorite substitutes for the standard 14k rose and 14k yellow gold.
14k brown alloy:
58.5% gold + 1.25% silver + 35.25% copper + 5% Nickel
This color lies between rose and white gold, a beautiful taupe/champange color- not as pink as standard rose gold
14k blonde alloy:
58.5% gold + 21.75% silver + 18.7% copper + 1.05% Zinc
This much higher silver content than standard 14k yellow makes for a paler shade of yellow.
Is sasa gold recycled?
Yes, we use 100% recycled gold and fairmined gold. To learn more about this click here.
Is sasa a sustainable brand?
The Jewelry Glossary Project defines sustainablity as: The successful stewardship of the environment, culture, and economy. With an explanatory note: Within these connected domains, interests can be complimentary or in direct competition with each other. Extraction of finite, non-renewable resources used by the jewelry industry is ultimately environmentally unsustainable. However, in communities where livelihoods are dependent on mining, it can be a tool to catalyze economic development.
So the short answer is sort of? Our sourcing is from small scale and artisional mines that protect the planet as much as possible while also contributing to economic growth of marginalized communities. While we consider ourselves much more sustainable than other mass produced brands, ultimately we don't want to use the word to confuse or green-wash. We simple choose to use the best current practices to bring more good than harm.
